Pro Release 3.28

Merchant Functions:

  • Turns out Quote orders still needed to be marked as "Picked Up," whether or not you'd selected anything on Order Pick Up in the Order Menu in General Options. That bugged us (and you!) so we fixed it.
  • We've added a new field to the Destination box on the Order Fulfill and Order Modify pages. You can now input a Student ID or an Alumni ID if you like.
  • New Feature: Using a brand new promo engine, we've created the ability for you to limit a promotion to only discount General Merchandise in a user's cart. That means for the first time, a 20% off promotion can apply to the sweatshirt, but not the textbook, in your customer's basket! (This works online, too!)

Reporting:

  • The Sales Tax Detail Report includes links to the receipts for every transaction in the report, in case you're skimming through it and see something you want further insight into. We fixed a bug that were sending those links to the wrong place.
  • The Booklist and Booklist by Course Reports were timing out for some users; now they aren't!
  • Improvement: You can now limit the Booklist by Course Report to a particular Department. This is great if an academic department asks your textbook buyers for all the adopted items for their particular courses.

Web Commerce:

  • Now that your website is set up to charge customer cards when you fulfill the order, we're tweaking and improving as we go. This week, we've changed the way that your website speaks to your payment processor, to make things like split shipments easier to manage. If you don't yet have Heartland Portico enabled for your website, talk to your nearest Heartland rep and they'll flip the switch!
  • This is a little thing, but speaking of split shipments: we realize that when it comes time to fulfill your customers' orders you may need to send their items out one at a time, which will slightly change the amount of tax your customers pay. Since the tax amount could shift a little bit, we're now calling that field "Estimated Tax" on your Checkout page.
  • You might treat current students and alumni differently in your store--and the best way to tell them apart might be that Student ID field. So if you like, we can change that field to "Student ID / Alumni ID" so that you can accept both IDs. It's pretty easy--just contact our Pro Support team and we'll take care of it.
