When you logged into Hero today, you might have pushed back from your desk with snort of surprise and delight. So let's introduce you to your new home page straight away. Here it is!
Right up top, we'll focus on your campus. Are your faculty picking the cheaper option when a cheaper option's available? Are students doing that? And how's transparency: is everyone seeing all the information relevant to their decision, all at once? This dashboard is your cheat sheet.
Also: see those 90/60/30 numbers? That's Hero, looking at what your life looked like on a single day 90, 60 or 30 days ago. Coming soon here, we'll teach Hero how to look at full months of your data -- 1, 2 or 3 months ago -- but right now everywhere on this page, you're seeing snapshots.
There's a tempting Launch Status button there as well -- we'll get to that in a second.
Next up, we'll look at the entire Hero network, so you can see how your campus stacks up against every other user out there.
Finally, we'll head to the map. Here's where all your fellow Heroes live. You'll see more and more dots cover this map the longer you stare at it, and every one represents a real school full of users just like you.
If you're curious about how a massive clump of Hero clients shakes out, hover your mouse over there to take a peek:
OK, mash go on that enticing blue button at the top of your homepage. If you're in the process of implementing Hero, this is where your campus progress will live. If you're live with Hero but have just one teensy outstanding task remaining, this is still where your campus progress will live. This campus is halfway there.
Every Campus Admin can see this progress, and you can share it with anyone on campus you like. Hero's all about transparency and clarity, and this page does both. Give us a day or so to get your school's data loaded in here, and then you'll be good to go!
View Only Vendors:
A couple weeks ago, we taught Hero how to display "View Only" Terms -- terms where you wanted students to be able to see adoptions, but didn't want them to try to purchase materials from your store that might not have arrived yet. This week, we've created the ability to enable or disable other Vendors in those View Only terms.
If Vendors are enabled, then students can get a sense of the market value of the course materials they're about to pick up, which is fantastically helpful for them. If Vendors are disabled, then students can't see the market value of the course materials, but they also can't skip over to Amazon and buy all their books before your shelves are stocked.
By default, Hero will show Vendors in View Only terms (yay transparency!). If you want to change this, just reach out to Sidewalk Support or your nearest Customer Success Manager.
That's it! Enjoy yourself out there -- and if you need anything, come grab us. Your nearest Customer Success Manager is a great way, and a plaintive (or joyous!) email to email@example.com is the other.
