•Improvement: To start things off, we bring you the gift of...nothing. If you have a set of courses at your school that never have adoptions, then we let you import those courses into Hero as "No Text Required" courses. This will save you multiple minutes of your time each term when you no longer have to tell Hero, once again, that Advanced Intramural Pickleball does not have any books required. Contact us to learn more.
•Improvement: We've been making bushels of updates to Hero's Adoption Editor over the past few months, and we're pleased to tell you that if you access Hero through any accessibility features, it will keep right on ticking. Enjoy!
•New Feature: Recently we created a third type of Custom Item, just for our friends at Nebraska Book Company. The WebPRISM Item lets you link a custom general merchandise item to the point-of-sale by its ProductFamily ID. Which is awesome. You sell lab goggles; Hero works with your POS to display accurate inventory and pricing.
This week, we took it one step further. Chances are you just have one type of lab goggles, or stethoscopes, or even calculators at your campus. So it's not helpful for every single professor to create and adopt an item called Slide Rule and then expect you to sort it out.
So if you're an Admin for your campus, you now have access to the GM Management page in your Hero Control Room. Use this to create or search for WebPRISM Items that can be shared across your entire campus.
Second, everyone will see the Coursepacks & Non-textbook Items option in the Adoption Editor. They can search through the list of WebPRISM items available on your campus, and adopt the official item -- the one tied to your POS -- easily.
•Improvement: You use your Vendors page to enable and disable the Vendors that will give your students the best set of price comparison options and your store the best affiliate commissions. (As we've written before, your students are absolutely going to compare your store's prices with online retailers. Might as well see revenue from any choice they make.)
Today we gave you the ability to further tweak those vendors. You can default each vendor to either its lowest viable price offering or its highest. If you default every vendor to its lowest price, then you're truly helping your students -- they'll get the right content for the lowest price guaranteed. If you default every vendor to its highest price, then you're making your bookstore prices appear more competitive. We'll let you make the choice that best fits the economics of your store and the culture of your campus.
That's it! If you love bells and whistles...or if you just love pushing our buttons, reach out to your nearest Customer Success Manager, or drop us a line at email@example.com. We'll get you taken care of.
